Jos brings to this role skills gained from a 30 + year career which has spanned strategic business, sales and marketing leadership roles for leading supplier companies including; Unilever, Pacific Dunlop (Adidias) and Lion Nathan as well as co owning a group of independent licensed supermarkets.
He also bring deep insights into the day to day management challenges of running viable commercial supermarkets, having gained these from my recent 11 year role as part of a leadership team, owning, managing and growing a chain of independent supermarkets.
Jos is inspired by the challenge of continuing to grow MGA Independent Retailers into an effective, efficient organisation that strives to support, develop and foster prosperity for members.
Rod has been the president of MGA for the past 9 years. Rod started in supermarket retailing 25 years ago when he purchased Mount Martha SUPA IGA in partnership with Ron Corrigan. During this stimulating journey he was privileged to serve on the FoodWorks Board before becoming President of MGA.
Debbie has been a Director of FoodWorks since its formation and owns Allora, Northlands and Blue Mountain FoodWorks in Queensland with her store manager. Debbie’s qualifications include Master of Business Administration, Graduate Diploma of Business Administration, Graduate Certificate of Business Administration and Diploma of Teaching.
Grant has worked in the retail grocery industry for the past 23 years via his employment with Tasmanian Independent Retailers Coop Soc Ltd (TIR). Grant has CEO of TIR since 2007. Grant is also a Director of TIR and State wide Independent Wholesalers (SIW). Grant’s qualifications include an Associate Diploma and Degree in Business (both specialising in accounting).
Gino has been involved in the Supermarket industry for over 35 years and has previously served on Pricing & Promotion committees. He is the part owner of Supa IGA Hilton and Inglewood IGA. Gino’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Business (Accounting).
Steve has been an MGA Board Member for 16 years. He is currently State Manager of Ritchie’s Store Pty Ltd and looks after the well-being of 37 Vic Supermarkets. In total he has been involved with the Retail Supermarket and Wholesale Grocery business for just over 39 years.
Mick has been a store owner in the Western District of Victoria for over 25 years. During that time he has been an active member on various industry committees and boards including a long serving director on the MGA board.
Andrew has been in the supermarket industry for over 14 years. He owns three stores, Allambie Heights, Castlecrag and Collaroy Beach, all located in the Sydney metro area.
Chris comes from the dos Santos family, who established Santos Retail in 1988 in SA. As well as retail he has had 21 years of state government experience, spanning across a myriad of functions including finance and procurement. Chris has had many lead roles in Government departmental reform and system implementations.
